She's Got Another Think Coming

Chloe doesn't want to take naps anymore.

She has been on-and-off with taking them all summer, which has only added to an already way too stressful season for all of us. She just lays in her bed singing, or sneaking in and out of bed gathering books or stuffed animals, or she comes to open her door and yells "Mom! Is my nap DONE??" many, many times over the course of a not-so-restful hour.

If she thinks she is done with naps any time soon, she's got another think coming.

There are a few conditions that she has to meet first:
a) make it to dinner time without a tired meltdown.
b) make it through dinner time without massive tired meltdown.
c) cooperate for putting jammies on without a massive tired meltdown screaming fit.
d) allow a parent to brush her teeth without a massive tired meltdown screaming drooling fit.
e) get into bed and cuddle with a parent without a massive tired meltdown screaming drooling kicking fighting fit.
f) actually fall asleep earlier than normal since a nap was missed.
g) have no meltdowns within the first five minutes of waking up the next day.

Do you see where I am going with this?? These things just don't happen. She is so not ready to be done with naps. I am praying today is a nap day. She is deceptively silent right now, but she was yesterday too, and there was no sleeping happening.

So, yeah. This has been bothering me to say the least ;-)

Did you ever videotape Chloe while she is having a tired meltdown fit? My idea here is to show her what she looks and sounds like...of course not while she's having a tired meltdown fit... xox
