Planes, Trains & Automobiles
This is what she wanted to buy with her birthday money:
Luckily, I know how to find them cheaper on ebay so we got almost $100 in Thomas brand trains for about $50. And amazingly she has been sharing them really well with Evan.
She and I have been together here for the whole week, since Todd has been taking Evan to work (from 9-4:30pm) everyday, and all she wants to play with me are trains, movie cars and airplanes. I have tried baby dolls, grocery store, jewels/dress-up... she tolerates it for a bit then says, "Let's play trains, Mama!" like it is the best idea ever.
The only other thing she has given attention to is art time with me. She loves to watch me draw or paint right next to her, which may be the only thing I can do that is cooler than wrestling time with Dad. Most of the time, she will ditch playing with me as soon as he walks in the door. Oh well.
It's always nice doing "girly" stuff while it lasts, but if I'm completely honest I'd rather set up the trains too :-)

Miracles
Little miracles.
While pregnant, I don't think I was quite as aware of it as I am now. Only a creator could do such a miracle. A child... a life... it's just so incredible, all of it.
Everyday I'm aware of it.

Alone With This One
Todd has taken Evan to work with him yesterday and today, so I am here with Chloe. She is so completely different without Evan here. And I am loving my new-found brain that can think a clear and total thought for more than 3 minutes... there are actually moments of absolute quiet!! It's so weird. She spends time by herself playing with all the toys he can't yell at her for touching (shhh, he doesn't ever need to know), reading books to herself, setting up a mudpit of her own or playing trains with zero fighting going on... 
...and she's been doing a lot of building with blocks on the kitchen floor (as if I need more of my floor space to disappear) making these cute little birdhouses which she says Uncle Chris taught her how to make :-)
off to enjoy more quiet as she sleeps peacefully.

Playing in the Rain
We spent the morning outside playing bear hunt, bug hunt, cars in the dirt and picnic snack on the yard blanket... then it started to rain. 
So we just stayed out and ran and ran and splashed till we were soaked and frozen... even me :-)
