It was really windy, but so wonderful to get a taste of spring in late December.
Evan had a lot of bottled up energy (as anyone with little boys knows well). He took off at full speed on his bike for some around-the-block racing!

... and was completely drenched within 3 minutes of leaving the house.

The whole neighborhood had flooded sidewalks so he was pretty excited! Around every corner was a new enormous puddle to spray through. We did have to take a riding break to throw some ice chunks around.

After walking all around several blocks, we came back home for some more drenching fun:
You have to enlarge this one to really see that face!
Chloe was pretty tolerant of the wind today, but she did say more than once "I'm blowing away! Pick me up!" (remember last year when she used to hold her piggy-tails close to her head and cry because she thought they were going to blow off?)
She is such an observer when we are outside. She studies things and notices the tiniest details.

She always collects sticks, berries, leaves...

By the afternoon (since Chloe didn't take nap again) we were able to go into the backyard which wasn't so soggy as it was in the morning. Todd was moving around some of his ladders, and Evan thought it was a good day for climbing onto the garage roof. Why not? All that wind didn't scare him!!

After lots of swinging and several games of chase, tag, and hide-n-seek we were all tuckered out and finally went inside for dinner.
